Celebrating GREAT COAST TRAVERSES with presentations by Jacqui Hudson and Peter Croft

The 2012 Spearhead Soiree promises to be another exciting event. We are very fortunate to have John Baldwin as this year’s Patron. John, BC’s pre-eminent backcountry skiing authority, has generously offered to sell signed copies of his books and maps with all proceeds going to the Spearhead Huts Project. Thank you, John!
The evening will be a celebration of GREAT COAST TRAVERSES. Jayson Faulkner, chair of the Spearhead Huts Committee, will be on hand to give us an update on the project and take us on a tour of the Spearhead Traverse.
Then our special guest presenters, Jacqui Hudson and Peter Croft, will share their personal mountain traverse experiences. Jacqui will recount her 55-day ski traverse of the Fairweather and St. Elias Ranges, from Haines to Cordova, Alaska. Peter will share the story of his ground-breaking feat… the first full mountaineering traverse of the Waddington Range.
Before the presentations begin, there will be plenty of time to mingle with friends, grab a beverage at the no-host bar, and enjoy the jazz music of Phil Belanger. $100 ticket holders arriving at 7pm will also enjoy tasty appetizers.
Posters and models will be on display to give an update on the Spearhead Huts Project.
The Silent Auction will be extensive with something for everyone… outdoor gear, books, photography, art, vacation accommodations, wellness services, and more. And for fun, there’ll be a 50/50 raffle. Special thanks to all our Sponsors and Donors for helping us make this event such a success!
