There are not any news about the fate of the three italian alpinists blocked on Dome de Neige des Ecrins in the French Alps since last monday. An interesting intervention of Alessandro Gogna here: http://milombardia.gazzetta.it/milano/2 ... 9688.shtml (in italian).

November is a very dangerous month to go onto any alpine 4000er because of the bad weather. Even they have had bad luck because of this northern cold air entry...

It's very sad Silvia, devasting :(

Oh yes, it's too sad...maybe they have underestimate the forecast snow-storm, they didn't take bivy-equipment.

It sounds like the prognosis may not be positive and the rescue operations have been called off due to poor weather/avalanche conditions. Thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of those on the mountain. May the rescue workers be brave and strong yet prudent.

Very sad, unfortunately the prognosis isn't positive. They are three experienced alpinists, one of them climbed the Eigerwand, but more than a week had spent...
