Kennedy, Kruk, Lama, Ortner get Piolet d'Or special mention
Posted: Thu Mar 21, 2013 3:20 pmIt's been announced today that the Piolets d'Or jury is giving a "special mention" to Hayden Kennedy and Jason Kruk for their clean ascent of compressor route on Cerro Torre in January 2012, and to David Lama and Peter Ortner for their clean and free ascent a few days later. Looks like enfant terrible David Lama has come a long way since his 2010 attempt to free the route, when his team sparked outrage by adding more bolts for the film crew.
