Tragedy on Gran Zebrù- Six mountaineers dead on the normal
Posted: Wed Jun 26, 2013 5:02 pmOn Sunday 23th two different accidents caused the death of six mountaineers in the same point of Gran Zebrù normal route after getting the summit. The first party fell down on the Solda side at 8 o' clock in the morning during the descent. The three members of the second party fell down some hours after. Reinhold Messner and the Sud Tirol Alpin Rescue attribute the two similar accidents to the snow's bad conditions, due to the high temperatures and the sudden thermic rise after a spring with abnormal snowfalls in altitude. May they rest in peace.
