Oiarzabal vuelve por todo lo alto. He's climbed Makalu without toes and oxygen. Surgeons had to amputate them after having had a bad descent from K2 summit in July'04. For me he's done a great exploit. It's realy amazing :D Congratulations Juanito :!:

22nd 8000er by Oiarzabal (SPA) = 14 + Everest + 3xCho Oyu + GII + GI + K2 + Makalu

Then:

20 by Viesturs (USA) = 14 + 5xEverest + Cho Oyu

19 by Ang Rita Sherpa (NEP) = 14 + 3xDhaulagiri + Cho Oyu + Kangchenjunga

17 by Apa Sherpa (NEP) = 17xEverest

18 by Messner (AUT) = 14 + Everest + GII + GI + Nanga Parbat

16 by Hang-Gil (KOR) = 14 + 2xShisha Pangma

(Say it to the Spanish newspaper Marca, I've copied from there).

Diego, Apa has 17 just on Everest.

Why is Juanito so amazing? Maybe he can't do anything else with his life and feels compelled to keep going back and repeating the same old thing to maintain publicity? If he does them all twice will he be twice as amazing? Does More = Better? When is it OK to stop? He keeps damaging his toes - that's stupid. He's required rescue twice now - Everest and K2 - and denied he needed help. That's pathetic.
I don't see what is so admirable about him.
