Hi there
Another Aussie I did a 7 day technical course in NZ in March based out of Pioneer and Centennial hut's. Any way keen to do a lot more climbing in NZ and worldwide . Just have to work on my fitness alot!!! lol.
Also getting back into Ski touring after a long break just bought some new Dynafit gear. Keen to also head up Blue lake way in July.

Planning a new trip to Australia & New Zealand, but with an nonclimbing friend and rather far away in time still. The last four years the trips have gone to California mainly, but now it's time to get back down under again. Really looking forward to it. Do you hear me, dadndave?

Yeah I was there a couple of weeks ago on a family holiday – had a good mind to tell the missus to sit tight and look after the baby while I’d be away for a day and a half to climb the thing again!!
I did get the chance to do a couple of half day solo climbs though. Climbed up to Mt Rolleston (low peak) in Arthurs Pass NP via Rome Ridge (highly recommended) including a traverse to Avalanche Peak. I also botched an attempt at the non-existent route up to the SE ridge of Homestead peak (Aspiring NP), followed by a run around the mountain and back up the other side via Rob Roy Stream to the snowfields to the NW ridge – I didn’t quite make it to the summit thanks to blowing out a proportion of my allotted time clambering around the base of the SE ridge on a 60 degree slope playing fisty-cuffs with the ‘beloved’ (horrendous) NZ fern………
