hiking destination near Dubrovnik
Posted: Sun Jul 06, 2008 4:19 pmFlights to Dubrovnik are still cheap for both me and Kathyg, so we are thinking about a 10-14 day trip to there in late August. We probably have stamina for 3 or 4 days of beach and tourist crap, then we will need to get out into the mountains.
I have read about Montenegro and the mountain near Zabljak. I would love to go there, but getting a bus to that town seems like a logistical nightmare.
Is there another mountain/hiking town to which we should consider traveling that is reasonably easy to get to via bus from Dubrovnik?
Or is there some other better destination that ThomsonFly/TuiFly services which offers better beach/mountain recreational opportunities?
Or is Zabljak so amazing that I should blow my trip budget on renting a car?
