bar for stone
tom and poštas for hill
vešk for mountain. Of course there is the Wiki link, but with no mountain vocabulary. The digits (page bottom) certainly come in handy though.

No dictionary but a well-known Romany (Roma) song and a series of pictures of the Svydovets (just one SP pic so far), one of the highest (and extensively grazed for ages) mountain ranges of the NE Carpathians

Thanks Mihai for using English despite your being unable to use it  Also, thanks for a nice example of incorrect but communicative English :!: :D
The main purpose is to exchange any info about the mountains and hills of East Central Europe here.

Right you are. But it's the author of the video's "fault" :)
AFAIR This tune was created by some Muslim Roma from the Balkans, i.e. Southeastern Europe, which I hold dear too (which my current profile pic is proof of :D )

The following site is terrific AFA the music is concerned.

OK Point taken. Now I hope Peterbud will remember this thread works. :)

If one knows that harti stands for maps, it works very well. :) I've used it for a few years now.

Noooo, this song

All right, only the beginning part is in Hungarian (btw thanks for the link, Jacek)

As for the the original film, it is terrific, I mean a really great piece!

Personally, I do find both the soundtrack and the camerawork memorable. Thanks, Borut, for the online tracks leading to more of the movie.

Now a little riddle for those who don't know:
Whereabouts - that is to say in which mountains exactly - can one find this cold, i.e. this cool forest and gorges?

yatsek wrote::oops: Talking of vodka, I must admit I've never liked it - I guess I must have fewer Slavic genes than expected (or could this actually mean more South Slavic genes?)
BTW A little text about the old border and Polish-Magyar struggles in the Podhale/Spisz; including bits about those bad  Hungarian settlers.

I'm also not a fan of Vodka. Only Simpson is ! As for me, if you take me to the Sudetes, I'd rather dring a pint of Opat. Further East, I'd opt for a Demänovka or a Spišská Borovi?ka :)
