Does anyone know about a 3000'er in Ticino that doesn't involve navigating a glacier (or one that has very limited glacier travel or where there is a clear and good route). I was looking to head up Rheinwaldhorn this weekend, but can't seem to find a partner. I'm still planning on doing it unless I find a good alternative, but don't want to go through all 44 Ticino 3000'ers to find out .

If anyone should happen to be in Ticino (or feels like driving here) and up for it, that would be even better actually.

Pizzo Campo Tencia (3071m) is a famous 3000er in Tessin. As you can see in this link: http://www.wandelpaden.com/Rubriek8q.html (I guess you speak Dutch?) , you do not need to cross a mayor glacier.(Ghiacciaio di Croslina is small, see map in the link) Campo Tencia is the highest peak in the heart of Ticino. Well, that didn't quite work out. When arriving in Cusié, I decided not to take ski's or snowshoes, since there wasn't all that much snow on the South side. Especially the South side of Logia looked really good, so I decided to try and get up there.

Somehow I ended up on the North side of the valley with no way to cross. This made what should've been a 1,5 hour walk in to a 4 hour snow slog. When I finally got closer to Logia, must've been at around 2400m or something at 18H00, something went wrong. Still don't really know what, but the next thing I knew, I was upside down in the water. Not the nicest experience! Anyway, since everything was wet and I was pretty cold, I saw no other option than to head back down. Arrived back home last night late.

Definitely going to try there again in a couple of weeks. One of the prettier places I've been - so remote!
