Could try the Sella Group. Srenuous but straightforward hike up scree from Passo Pordoi to the summit plateau then a short scramble to the summit of Piz Boe. Great views across the Dolomites and you can get a beer on top. Even by my standards it's easy. It can get crowded though and bottlenecks form on the cables

Does anyone have any more suggestions in this category? I was thinking of places like Chamonix, Zermatt, Aosta or Grindelwald/Wengen as a base camp, and doing day several long day trips from one of these places. Any thoughts?

I would also like a place where one can find more young people (25-35) to join up with. Is there any of the suggested places which are better than the other for meeting other young people?

For non-technical 3k peaks forget about Chamonix and Grindelwald; here the choice is very limited.
Zermatt offers plenty of possibilities for at least a week and so does Arolla, Saas Almagell etc. in the neighbouring valleys.
Aosta itself also has lots of opportunities but it is more a big city apart from the trailheads -- you better go into one of the side valleys (e.g. cogne, val savaranche, breuil, val gressoney), where you can start right from your hostel or tent.

IMHO in Zermatt, Arolla, Chamonix it is quite easy to find other mountaineers.
For the villages in the Aosta region it is surely helpful to understand a little italian

I was thinking the same about Grindelwald/Wengen. The peaks seems to be either too easy and accessible between 2500-3000m, or extremely difficult climbing between 3500-4000m.

Aosta and the surrounding areas seems like a great place, but I'll put that on hold until I have someone to travel with. This summer I'll probably be traveling alone.

Zermatt and the neighbouring valleys will therefore be my first choice this summer. Thx for the help!
