Bivouac options above Weisshorn hütte
Posted: Tue Aug 07, 2012 10:54 amI was curious if there are any decent bivouac options above the Weisshorn hut. The route is pretty long and the hut is located quite low. Given the early start a proper inspection of the start of the route is necessary anyway. So I was thinking why not bivouac higher up. Looking at the topo I'm not convinced there would be a good spot though. I think there might be one 200m above the hut, but not convinced 200m would make up for hauling all the gear up.
Not interested in trying a different route at this point, as in the days following the ascent I have some other plans and don't want to exhaust myself too much. I'll do the traverse somewhere in the future.
