Ski Touring - Konkordia Platx

Ok I've always had stunning advice from this forum each year on deciding on the annual weeks ski toruing. Last year we did Trient Plateau and then Dent Du Midi the year before. Both hugely successful.

So this year I spotted the Konkordia Platx. The big area behind the Jungfrau. So... with that as a blank canvass please can anyone advise on huts, starting points, especially good peaks to go for etc? Absolutely any advice you can think of for that area is hugely appreciated.

To tailor your advice here is the type of skiers we are:

We like our of the way huts away from the crowds.
We take all our own food with us.
    We need wood burners ideally.
We like to climb some easy peaks / ridges here and there and will have a rope, crampons and axe each.

Many thanks to everyone in advance!!!

Hi,

It's a great area for skitouring.
Maybe the best and cheapest way for reaching the area is going up by cablecar from the swiss vilage Fiesch and from Eggishorn going down to the Marjellensee and this way reaching the the Aletschglacier.
Also you can try reaching the area through Faffleralp and the Hollandiahutte.
Or the costly (but easiest)way from Grindelwald by train.
There's a bivyhut behind the Aletschhorn, far away from crowds and further more there will be plenty of huts around, like the Konkordiahut, Hollandiahut, Monchjochhut and of course the Finsteraarhornhut, which is pretty isolated.
From the Finsteraarhorn you can link back through the Grunhornlucke towards the Aletschglacier and Marjellensee.
Easy snowplot mountains are for example Aletschhorn, Jungfrau, Hinterfiescherhorn and the Finsteraarhorn, (only the last section from Huggisattel is een hour second degree rockclimbing.
You can make a beatifull roundtour there but i recommend that you order a map from the area and look into it and get some info about the huts too.

succes. Peter

If you want to make sure you will have a roof over your heads, you'll defenitly need to reserve these huts
Coming eastern i will go to the austrian alp for a skitouringtrip with some friends and we made our reservations in time and still we had to bypass the plan a bit to make sure we had beds.
Even in summertime these huts can be crowded and reservations are necessary, so the short time in winter it's very important to make reservations.
Behind the Aletschhorn there is however a unmand hut, the Oberaletchs bivyhut, you can go for that but you never be sure of a place in a bed and you have to see how many are there when you arrive.
