Mont Blanc acclimatisation?

Are there any recommended climbs to do as acclimatisation for Mont Blanc? Myself and a friend are planning to attempt it at the start of September, and at the moment we are thinking of doing Mont Buet on the first day, then day 2 going up to Tete Rousse, day 3 back down to Chamonix, then attempting the summit the following 2-3 days (we were thinking of doing it over 3 days instead of 2, after speaking to a friend who recommended taking 3 days as its less rushed, also adds a bad weather option). Are there any other good acclimatisation climbs, potentially instead of going to Tete Rousse on the second day?

Also, is it possible to get to Gran Paradiso from Chamonix by public transport? If not, are there any other badweather options within public transport range of chamonix?

Gran Paradiso is what we did before our Mont Blanc climb, back in 2005. Nice acclimatizing climb. Can't tell you about public transport between Chamonix and Valsavrenche, though, sorry about that...
