Hi all,

I am doing several technical mountaineering courses this year in Leysin with the ISM (thanks to my Uni grant) that should give me a solid grounding in terms of skills and experience.

2 of the courses run in the first 2 weeks of September and I'm planning on staying on in Switzerland for the second half of the month (17-30th) - either for trekking or better yet to do some more climbs and hopefully a few more peaks.

Is anyone planning on being in Switzerland then and looking for a climbing/trekking partner?

Why not?

I'm a 4000m hunter and september it could be good for many peacks. It depends by which kind of mountain you wish to climb

Hello Carl,

I am interested in some Zermatt based technical climbs e.g.
Weisshorn via Schaliridge, Täschhorn-Dom traverse,
Obergabelhorn S-face from arbenbiwack, Zinalrothorn SW-ridge. You may add Matterhorn via Hörnliridge - did it last
year but You may appreciate (this would be a good test for the Schaliridge).
Naturally some easy climbs like Castor & Pollux , Weissmies or Dent Blanche to get to know each others technical level are a pre-requisite - no need to precipitate or overestimate the own skills - quite a lot of
ambitious climbers die in the Wallis range every year.
These climbs are only possible if it has not yet snowed too much.
If conditions on the 4000er range are too difficult i would
suggest some interesting climbs around Gotthard (below 3000m or the Italian Dolomites.
