Anyone have updates on what areas are changing or when they will peak? Also, suggestions for places to go the first week of October that may be lagging behind other areas. Unfortunately I can't get much farther then the front range area until the beginning of next month. McClure pass and steamboat areas?

I haven't used either but they seem reliable enough.

I worked in Granby all last week and the colors were seemingly peaking right now, it's beautiful up there right now

Here around Aspen everything has exploded.

I have been out shooting photos for the past few days and it has been amazing.

I saw some amazing color along Clear Creek in Chaffee Cty yesterday (the Winfield area is ablaze)! Kenosha Pass has exploded, too.

West of Colorado Springs (Cripple Creek area) will probably be at its peak this coming weekend.

Right now the main color is white. It's snowing at 9,000'.

The colors are changing here in Steamboat. I'd say we're at about 10-15% of the color change.

This coming weekend should be good and depending on the weather, it could still be good for that first weekend in Oct. Of course, we got some rain/snow this morning in town and the clouds haven't cleared yet, so I can't see how much snow the mountain got.

It's dumping at 7500 where I live. Should see maybe 3-4" accumulation. Seriously. I imagine this could bring down a lot of the leaves, particularly if the wind kicks up again.

Guess I'd better wax the skis to get to see the colors in the b/c.

I was hoping to go in search of alpine ice this weekend. Guess I might be carrying skis instead of ice tools. (Sure is rough living here, ain't it Martha!)

Thanks, for the info everyone. Seems like Steamboat might be my best option. This recent snow could put an end to the leaves if it keeps up.

I was screwed today, about to leave granby only to find out about a trailor wreck on berthoud from the weather. Had to drive back through kremling to silverthorne, took me 3 1/2 hours in freakin blizzard like conditions with a heavy ass trailor on my truck... Grr

That might qualify as the first fall blizzard fuck up story!

It's 50 percent changed, which is a time I like, at 8k in the Elks.

All my old friends still live up there, and they bitched for hours yesterday about all the snow and the truck wreck on Berthoud.

As much as I miss living up there, I don't miss getting trapped in the valley when a rager hits.

I was in the West Elks today, not at peak yet, late next week should be peaking.
