Anyone up for a 14er January 29-30?

Anyone interested in a 14er January 29-30 (Friday and Saturday)?

If conditions are completely stable, I wouldn't mind doing something in the Elks but right now that is looking pretty unlikely.

Maybe something like Democrat would be suitable.

I would like to do something. I've already done Democrat, but I'd be willing to do it again. I would rather go for Yale or Princeton.

I am up, I have already climbed Democrat too. Something in the Elks would be great... if is it possible. The more technical the route the happier I'll be.

The only reason I suggested Democrat was because it and the Elks are the closest 14ers to me that I haven't done yet and I'll be up late the night before traveling Denver to home, so closer is good.

Anyway, I've already done Yale in winter and aren't too interested in doing it again. Since we failed on Princeton in winter, I'd be interested in that one, if the weather is good (I've already seen the mountain in a snowstorm and want some views next time).

Alternately, since I have to be in Denver on the 28th anyway, I could do something like the Lost Creek Wilderness and then go home after that if people were interested in that one.

Princeton is fine just with me. I have yet to climb it in the winter.

If interested, there is a cabin high on Princeton where you can sleep without carrying a tent, but it's quite a long walk up so we would need to get a fairly early start Friday. Not that early though, maybe 9 am; maybe 10 at the latest. Would this work? Otherwise we could camp instead.

I am really fine with either, the chalet is nice but I have a tent too and don't mind it.

Sounds good. I'm leaving for Denver monday so need to finalize plans soon since I'll be out of email contact.

Can you go for sure?

Yes, but probably not this time. Since I'll be arriving home really late Thursday, I wouldn't want to drive to far the next day. On the other hand, if I could catch a ride from Denver instead of going home, that would work out.

I can climb for sure that weekend. Either in the Sawatch or the Sangres. I would prefer the Sangres but I understand about the drive. Unfortunately, I am west of Colorado springs so I can't give you a ride down from Denver. Let me know what you think...

How would meeting 10am Friday at the Princeton Trailhead work out?

So are you planning on camping the night of the 29th then? PM me more details of the climb (I assume we are talking about Princeton)
