Do you by any chance have this photo in a larger size? It's hard for me to see much detail.

Yes I do, I will post it shortly. The image is south (plane is heading west to the right)

the biggest range in the photo, the one on the left side, is the gore range.

Franky is correct. I see this view (mostly in winter) all the time when I fly into Eagle from Chicago. You can see Vail and Beaver Creek as well as Avon, the town I live in, in the photo as well. If you post a bigger one I can label some stuff for you, but this size is a little small to do so.

Yeah, thats right!

I figured what I was looking at when I was on the plane because I could make out Vail and Beaver Creek / Avon (easier to see there than in the photo obviously) and the I70. I have never seen the Gore Range from the air, only from I 70 while going to Vail and BC from Denver. Its Impressively rugged from the ground and from the air. Lots of above treeline terrain and just steep and snowy, rocky terrain. Its holding snow even in late June when I took the pic (this past June 27, 7:10pm to be exact! :) ) even though it was quite warm for weeks prior.

Here is a higher res image of the whole scene. I think Mount of the Holy Cross is back there behind BC and the Ten Mile Range should be the mountains in the left/rear (SE). There also a pretty impressive ridgeline holding a little snow just to the west of the NW end of the Gore Range which I dont know the name of (lower right portion of the image)

Yep, you can see Holy Cross, and also Notch Mtn. to the right and up from Vail.

Correct, Holy Cross is behind Beaver Creek a little above and left.

Correct, the Tenmile is the next range south of the Gore across I-70

The ridge you are talking about NW of the Gore Range is Piney Peak

There is a lake on the lower left of the photo, this is Green Mountain Reservoir.

In the distance on the right central part of the photo you can see the Elk Range, but its a little far for me to make out the Maroon Bells.
