Hung out in The Valley with my Aunt a bit, HOT HOT HOT. Climbed Friday and Sunday in Tuolumne, Absolutely perfect in every way, the weather, the climbing, the scenery, the morning coffee and oatmeal at TPR, the sleeping in LVC,
Perfect perfect perfect.............
I really think having breakfast at the TPR when it is about 38 degrees knowing it is going to be a great day climbing on some perfect granite domes is the best way to wake up I've ever experienced. I would conclude it was perfect if there were a few less people driving on the road, but it is a small compromise.
It was my first trip climbing in Tuolumne, Led West Country, Golfers Route, and Alimony Cracks. All very good climbs. The gf got some good experience cleaning gear, next time i'll hit up west crack, south crack, and shagedelic for a step up.

Chief - that's your front yard? AWESOME! And I thought I had a nice one.
Your photos are all beautiful. Looks as if snow might be taking out a good portion of our Colorado color this year.
'sokay - I grew up in Vermont. We KNOW what fall color is there.

It felt like fall up in Tuolumne Meadows. What a difference a few thousand feet make.

If I can kick this cold I've picked up, I'm going to head up to the Bishop area this weekend to see the color first-hand. It'll be the Horton Lakes/Basin Mountain area for me.

Thanks for resurrecting my old thread, Kathy.
Was just about to drop Clydascope a PM to get some inside beta, as I, too, will be heading up to the Sierra this w/e to enjoy some local color!
Thinking about Agassiz, Lone Pine Peak, or Split -- if we can handle the trailhead logistics.
Not crazy about talus infested scree slopes/chutes just before the snow arrives, though.
Prefer them with 'pons or on skis....

The fall colors were pretty along the Horton Creek Trail yesterday, but my bright idea of trying to get up to Basin Mountain with a bad cold failed. I got to 10,900' and called it a day, but that gave me more time to enjoy the leaves before heading home.

The road to South Lake is excellent right now. There's still a bit of green leaves remaining, so it should be good for at least another week or two. Hopefully todays wind doesn't strip everythng off.
Rock Creek is good too, though it's a little behind. Still a few more days before it'll reach full color. Down low, by Iris slab it's just starting to turn color.
I'll get some pics up later.
