I remember reading something about the portal road but kind wanted to start this thread for all roads on the east side this winter.

I know this has been discussed before but would be cool to have an E Side road conditions page where people could update with the most recent conditions and/or opening rumors (e.g. Tioga). Even cooler would be be one that also had a data feed from CalTrans.

Sunday the Whitney Portals road was well and truly closed just beyond the "road closed" sign low down. Lots of icy snow; a few vehicles had made it a couple of hundred yards. I snowshoed up to the top parking area; a couple of others had gone in on skis. Lots more snow on the way.
