Has anybody done this traverse, going over White Fang, or either part of it? From what I gather it is nebulous class 4 and shitty rock. What I'm wondering, is it tedious and boring, or, scary life-endangering stuff, or some combination? I'm already pretty sure no one's going to call it classic, so no need to redirect me to the finer routes in the area. Thanks in advance.

If you have done Nevahbe Ridge to Morrison North then down Esha Cnyn or Laurel to Bloody, it is absolutely no different.

Do it from McGee Cnyn and then turn rt at the Beaver Pond, head up to the hanging mine valley, ascend up some 2nd/3rd Class Dolorite/Calcite choss stuff then hit the crest south of Baldwin. Head north on lots of the same choss and then follow it all the way through some short aspects of Class 3 Plus maybe very low grade 4th Class stuff to the Morrison Summit. Descend east down the East Face Route to Tobacco Flats.... tough 8-10 hour tour but so very fun BOB!

Shitty rock... nah. Just challenging as is the entire area of Convict & McGee Cnyns are with some incredible geological formations to be experienced that you will not find anywhere else in the Sierra.

The best part, you will not see another soul the entire day.

Oh yeah, It is a frkn Classic in my heart. It is one of my favorite solo trips that I try and do every year.
