Tahquitz S facing route conditions?

Posted: Mon Mar 29, 2010 1:18 pmFirm consolidated snow with boot track on the approach (did not need crampons or snowshoes). S facing routes are dry. Very minor run-off on the friction descent but easily avoidable.
Posted: Tue May 25, 2010 9:02 pmA few notes for those considering Tahquitz for the upcoming long weekend. Scrambled up the NE Rib this morning, came down the normal descent via Lunch Rock.
Tahquitz Rock is almost completely dry and that includes the North side routes. The approach from Ernie Maxwell Trail is dry. Temps are in very low 60s. The friction descent is also 100% dry. The North Gully descent is still snowed in, no chance to get down that way yet. It might be better in a week or so.
The conditions look good for the Memorial Day weekend.
