Can anyone tell me if there is a (working) pay phone at this Bishop Pass trailhead? Or if there is even marginal AT&T wireless signal? Thanks!
:)

No pay phone. Don't know about AT&T, but when I was there last year, I had no luck with my Verizon phone.

Bascuela,

The nearest place to get signal is probably on South Fork Road just off of 168. If you look you'll see a turn-out along the shoulder of the road where lots of people pull-over to make phone calls. It's between Forks and Four Jeffreys campgrounds. I think it works because it lines up down the canyon with Bishop. I'm not sure about A.T.&T. but most of my friends use their cell phones at that spot.

There is a pay phone about a mile down the road at Parcher's resort, very backpacker friendly place

Last August I had no reception with my AT&T phone...not sure about the payphone, but there probably will be one at North Lake, but not positive...

It's unlikely that there's a phone at North Lake. There are pay phones at the store at Cardinal Village and at the Marina at Lake Sabrina. Parcher's will be the closest to the Bishop Pass trail head.

No pay phone at North Lake, but a friendly pack station. :D

AT&T no way. Even Verizon doesn't get reception up there. Last weekend a Verizon signal kicked in for a moment just before we turned onto 168 but then dropped again until around the Buttermilks turn-off.
