Clear to Schulman grove as of 858am thurs Nov 4

The recording said the road was clear to Schulman Grove...

I dont know about the 4wd road past that...

I have to call up there again tommorow so I will repost then

I drove the road today and it was clear all the way to Patriach Grove. There was only one small section of road with hard snow across the whole road width on a north facing slope but it was safe to drive on. About a half mile past Patriarch Grove there is a good amount of snow covering half the road on a northeast facing slope near Limestone Peak. I decided to turn around here in order to not get stuck in my 2wd Honda CRV. The Ranger Station is recommending 4wd past Schulman GRove but it is not needed until past Patriach Grove.

How much snow is on some of 'dem N Facing slopes?

I just Climbed White Mountain this last weekend. The road was passable via 4x4 all the way to the Barcroft gate, but I doubt you'd want to venture out there now. Its cooled off considerably over the last two days.

Last time I went up White Mtn. there were about 20 pregnant sheep in a pen at Barcroft. A bunch of isolated scientists and pregnant sheep? Anyway, a JPL scientist came out to chat and he sort of smiled. He said they were studying the effects of high altitude on the reproductive systems of the sheep. They chose sheep because they most closely resembled the reproductive system of humans.

I can't imagine they would survive the cold, although the Bighorn Sheep seem to do just fine in the harsh conditions.

No, they wouldn't survive the winter, but it would not be due to the cold.
