All, 1000pks has deleted his pages.
I took care of Greys Peak (NV), and I note Huffaker Hills Trailhead in one of my Area/Range pages.
However, the rest of these need recreation. Some are in Idaho, Nevada, California, maybe other states.

Mountains and Rocks in California
Tells Peak (Desolation Wilderness Area)
English Mountain (Sierra Peaks Section (SPS))
Black Buttes (Northern Sierra) (California 2,000 ft Prominence Peaks)
Stewart Point (Calif. Desert Peaks)
Tioga Peak (Yosemite National Park)
Mitchell Point (Calif. Desert Peaks)
Rosa Point (Calif. Desert Peaks)
Hood Mountain (SF Bay Area Peaks)
Valencia Peak (California Coastal Peaks)
Fiske (SF Bay Area Peaks)
Tinker Knob (Lake Tahoe Basin)
Mammoth Crest (John Muir Wilderness)
Thunder Mountain (California County Highpoints)

Some of these may be in California, but can't identify
Crater Crest
Thompson Ridge (Ski Mountaineers Peak)
Heliograph Peak
Sauk Mountain
Magruder Mountain

Not sure if he deleted them or if they went away when he finally got booted.

Most of them are still in Google's cache if we want to recover some of the content:
(For Example Tells Peak: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... clnk&gl=us )

Many of his postings were just links to his website anyway.

Wonder if the elves could recover other folks attachments to his pages?
(Or at least bring them back and put them up for adoption?)

Here's the full list of his peaks:

Since he might be done with SummitPost for good now, I think it's better to let this stuff go (now that you know about it).

What is SP's policy on page deletion? If you own a top level page, can you just blast it and take everyone else's stuff with it?

Are those pages still around someplace and could be adopted by others with the original content intact?

I'm gonna miss Pete. He had some good info and a unique way of looking at things. Too bad he took those mountains with him.

I'll take on Mammoth Crest. It will be my first mountain, so I am looking forward to it.

I was gonna do it but go for it!

According to SP policy, your content is your content, which means that you can delete it whenever you wish. Some have suggested changes to this, but it probably won't happen. Sometimes, people who leave first try to give their pages away, and there is even a way to do that if you want to go "now" and can't wait to find takers for your pages: http://www.summitpost.org/phpBB3/leaving-sp-t55555.html.

Any pictures and route pages/trip reports/etc. that were attached by others to Pete's pages are still here. All the users have to do is reattach them if and when new pages go up.

How do you find the items that were attached to the pages?

I did a search for images for Mammoth Crest and I could not tell which of the images were linked to the Mammoth Crest page.

Also, when a mountain page is deleted by a disgruntled member, the summit log is also deleted. I would prefer a system that allows a member to delete his contribution to a page, but leaves a undeleteable skeleton page with all the other members attachments.

Thanks. I saw that you have many pics of the area and quite a few good pages for neighboring peaks. I just need to step up and post a few peaks and Mammoth Crest is one of my favorites.

I agree, people shouldn't be able to delete summit logs.

Good job, Bob. - if it wasn't you than good job, Mr. Moderator.

Keep up the good work.

Soon SP will be abandoned.

Just the way you like it.

Why the sarcasm?

Pretty much 90% of what Pete posted was either slanderous, off-topic, attention whoring, or just plain negative.

Nice to finally see the CA fourm where every single thread isn't dominated by Pete bitching about some Sierra Club grievance from 20 years ago, Pete bitching that he can't find partners, or Pete just generally bitching.
