dhude, you are an old fart. my mom was saying the same damn thing... hehehehehe
And my Mom taught me to listen very carefully to what Old Farts have to say and then heed them.....
you just might be surprised chief... thing is, like you, this internet thing is damn entertaining to me. kinda like that campfire of past. the shit gets slung, the egos bruised, but when it is all said and done, the climbers still come back to hang out... usually with each other time and time again... and EVEN IF no one admits a damn thing, there is some learning taking place. now don't let this out, but one thing i have learned from these vitual campfires is how to attack my battles. being right does not mean a damn thing, its figuring out how to come together...
i have to admit, in face to face contact, you are a great guy. you invited me into your home just so i can get beta. i still have topos that you gave me for some of those obscure routes on ruby wall. i am hanging on to those until i can convince some other fool to go play on that choss. no one, and i mean NO ONE seems interested, but for some reason i am hooked on doing daphne (sp?). we got up a good ways until the "sea level to high altitude in under 8 hour" syndrome kicked in. but now that my kids are older, i have been able to get back to doing it right again. no more mtn sickness for me.
anyways, i don't want folks to think i am a softy so i will stop. i may not show it in the internet, but you're a climber in my book. my favorite kind, you dish it out and you don't run away when its given right back to you... what was this campfire thread about anyways????
