Looking for beta on this canyon near Palm Springs. Since I don't have full range of motion with my right leg, I am hoping that I can at least waddle through an interesting canyon this weekend. Ladders? Yes, I can climb them without bending the bad leg.
Anyone been in Painted Canyon/Ladder Canyon recently?

Deb, this is easy and wonderful hike. We did it a few weeks ago with Jane Taylor-Levy and her husband Daniel and had a lot of fun. The temps are just right, mid 70s. I don't remember much about it, it was fun hiking. The canyon makes a big loop, allowing you to get back to your car. Go do it.

You may want to check if they have reopened Box Canyon Road. We wanted to do go there on New Year's Day but found the road closed.

Deb, we're all over the same places these days :D I'll be @ Ladder Canyon before the end of Feb, if I'm there before you I'll post some info. I haven't seen much info on it at all other than directions...

I was out there on Friday. It's a really pretty area as long as the weather is cool like it was on Friday. My next trip out there, I'm going to check out the Grotto area.

Anyway, there are lots of ladders in ladder canyon(s) - there are even a couple of ladders in places where it would be pretty easy to go up without one. I only did a little over 5 miles when I was out there. Here are some pics:
