Okay, let's see your pictures of the most snow that you've ever seen in California.

Here's mine, ca. 1980

Very Cool! But also a little odd, Tioga Pass in 1980 closed Dec 2 or 3 and then opened the first week of June? That would indicate very little snow in 1980, was this up in the Shasta area?

Near Kirkwood ski area. Not exactly sure of the year, sometime around 1980 give or take a couple of years.

Thanks SLR, I wasn't questioning your honesty, I just happen to look at the Yosemite website as there was another thread that pertained to Tioga Pass. So I had just look and saw the dates of the closures and openings.

Amazing amount of snow!

Chief, I remember those photos from the Mammoth website. Freaking awesome that year!

SLR, That could have been 81-82 or 82-83 as they were both monster years. I have some great pictures of Mammoth (in town) from March 1994 that look about the same. I'll try to dig em up... Good stuff! Does your license plate say 760 MOM? WTF?

More, More!!!!!

Chief that 2nd photo is great. I went skiing in Mammoth one year, and it was like that. Must have been 1988 or something like that. The upper part of Mammoth was closed because the crews couldn't keep up with avalanche control.

Ah yes, it is good indeed to see a photo from 2011 making the list! By my recollection (undoubtably tainted), CA is experiencing back to back years with normal or above normal precipitation for the first and only time in the past 12! Although not impressive by Sierra standards, this photo from Pine Valley, CA is worthy of the location where snowfall is relatively short lived and infrequent.

I was up in Bear Valley over the weekend. While things have started to melt, there's still a tremendous amount of snow up there. The roads & campgrounds around Lake Alpine (7,300 ft) are covered with a solid 10+ feet. This year a lot of spots will probably be opening quite late.

I din't get any shots of the pack per se, but I'll see what I got.
