"Micro-spring" near Thousand Isle Lake

Has anyone seen this before?
I encountered this last week on the PCT segment of the trail to Thousand Island Lake (right before you get the Banner Peak money shot). A spring so small that when I covered it with my finger, I couldn’t even feel it, yet the stream went airborne a good 18 inches. I’ve never seen anything like it (and I'm a geologist). Anyone else up in that area notice this thing?
