Actually, that anchor looks comparatively good! Looks like the roots have good penetration in the rock.

What an interesting thread.

I believe the issue is that the two camps (The Chief and everyone else) are talking about two different subjects.

The Chief is talking about cragging, albeit in a mountain setting. Everyone else is talking about mountaineering.
