I'm planning on going over Sawmill Pass this year. I'll spend a night at Sawmill Lake, and then another couple of nights at one of the Woods Lakes before dropping down to the PCT. I'd like to visit Window Peak Lake on this trip. It appears on the map one option would be to follow the drainage from Window Peak Lake where it enters Woods Creek. But it might be better to follow the drainage encountered prior to that of Window Peak Lake as it looks considerably less steep, but also considerably longer. Any feedback on the best approach is appreciated. Thank you!

I've gone up that oulet beginning just north of where it hits the PCT (pretty much the "W" in "Woods" on the Harrison map), and found it very pleasant X-country. My GF recalls that route fondly, and she's messy averse.

It is easy to follow the stream that drains Window Peak Lake. (I vaguely recall Secor's book describing it as brushy, but I found it to be pleasant, straightforward XC.) I followed the north side of the stream (leaving the PCT immediately NE of the word "Pacific" on the 7.5')
