Climbing Mt Ritter

First let me classify myself as a class 2 climber that will climb an easy and safe class 3 (but without rope) I can and will use crampons and an ice axe.

My son, a friend, and I will make a summit attempt on Mt Ritter next week. We plan on camping at the base just above Lake Ediza.

We were thinking of taking this route, suggested on previous posts on Summit Post. First, take the talus slope to the Upper Southeast Snow Bowl, then across the Southeast Glacier. From there we’ll get to the top via the Owens Chute.

What do you think? Any Ideas? Any tips? Truth be known.....I am looking for the easiest and safest way to the top. I hear route finding can be difficult on Mt Ritter.

Thanks for your input (ANY)…..Paul
