Supertopo has no info that is OFFICIAL.

No positive ID yet. Just got off the phone with Inyo Sheriff PIO. Nothing Official is out nor will be till family has ID the found body.

Big difference.

Search has ended and they found his body. My condolences go out to his friends and family. Argueing about whether officials or SAR crew confirm it at this point is petty and childish.

Wrong!

They (INYO SAR) are still up there. They found "A" body. On the west side of all things. Nothing is confirmed as of yet. PIO is hesitant due to no pos ID and the location where the body was found. Not in line with the actual DR.'s route plan.

It has happened in the past where a body was found and was not the intended search victim.

Edited for clarification of official PIO protocols.

Still cautious. But I saw the comment that the fellow may have tried to descend off the west side, after finding the normal route too stiff. Keep cool.

Wrong!

Enough. No need to oppose others just for the sake of doing so.

I'm hoping that we get a little more info -- such as where he was found (more specifically), and whether he got to the summit (signed in) and was descending.

I heard he did get to the summit and fell on the descent, somewhere on the west side of the peak. All of this info is speculations and may not be 100% accurate.
