this was originally the one I heard, and we get to hear Ray and Betty playing richly off each other, like a deep red cab and a fireplace in the winter. .
Or, at least a dark smoky jazz club with snow outside on a cold winter's eve. . . Love it.

Come to think of it, a posting of that version elsewhere might have inspired Larry's post in this thread. It sure isn't cold around here. It might drop below 40 Saturday night or sometime late next week; I guess that might feel cold after all the mild temps so far.

There isn't any mention of how they were dressed. Being Clifton made it only a mile away from their Jeep, I'd guess he had tennis shoes and no jacket- unprepaired for that weather.

Be safe out there. Heard about a 3-5 ft crown up off of Donner. As for down here, strange mixtures abound from super-thin to 1" wind crust over rain crust over, well, you get it.

Amen to this. Shoveling once a storm is fine- shoveling once an hour gets very old very fast.

I'm just glad my skis aren't glowering at me from the wall rack anymore. Been too long waiting!

C_G, I remember that snow in Flag. It was a joy to continue across 40 to NM...

Who needs snow when I can practice the magic art of shoveling with all the piles of bullshit you leave behind?

Clark, sorry! Not sarcasm: I was driving to meet a friend for New Year's in NM when that storm rolled in. -20deg at night out there, but El Morro NM for New Year's was gorgeous!
