Current Tahquitz/Idyllwild conditions?

Any eyes on Idyllwild/Tahquitz area? Being a meager snow year I figured things might be dry up that way. I was thinking of taking a friend up there for her first multipitch. We would probably do something over near the south side, Angels Fright, Fingertrip, Left Ski Track etc. Thought I'd try here first before calling Nomads and seeing if I can get a report.
Thanks!

The south side was totally dry and sunny last Saturday when we were up there. Since then, we had about an inch of snow on the ground from the latest disturbance on Monday. All dry in town now, but higher up, I don't know. Pen and I are going up there tomorrow, will report 4/11 evening. In general, very dry year, as of week ago temps in the low to mid 60s, some snow on the large ledges, rest of the rock was dry. Not yet shorts and t-shirt weather on the North side, but not too bad...

Temps are mid 60 highs. South side is dry and clean. Approach to Lunch Rock is clean. There is a bit of snow by the base of the rock toward Maiden and intermittently, to the base of the Larks. Snow on large ledges, Lunch Ledge, at I/J Tree and in the exit gully of the Larks. Rest of the rock is dry and clean. North gully descent is full of knee deep snow, don't go down that way. South side descent from the summit is totally dry and sunny. You objectives on the South Side are in the sun and a good day could be spend there. Wishing you fun. Cheers, Alois.

Nice and cool, just the way I like it! If all goes as planned we'll probably climb Monday and Tuesday. Thanks again!

There might not be many people on the rock, but, my dear friends Pat and Tom will be there climbing on the same days. If you happen to see a middle age couple (mid 50s), say HI.

Ended up having to hold off a day or two for some work. I'm leaving Wednesday night and will be climbing Thursday and Friday and then will probably hit up Jtree on Saturday and Sunday!

I was thinking about you last night. Yesterday afternoon forecast called for drop in temperatures, 60% change of snow over night. It is cold and clear here, about 27 degrees at 5,200', but no rain/snow. Glad you weren't here. Check the forecast before you go, the conditions can change pretty quick from reasonable to not.

We ended up scoring some excellent weather. The wind picked up Wednesday night but died off by late Thursday morning. Thursday we got a late start but we were able to do Angels Fright. On Friday we decided to go explore Suicide Rocks. It was my first time climbing Suicide so we did a quick run up Surprise and spent the rest of the afternoon checking the area out. Temps were getting warmer! For Saturday we got an earlier start so I could climb Whodunit. We had most of the North side to our selves. There was a party near the Long climb and a group on Maidens, but that was all we saw for the whole day. We did the north gully descent and did not encounter much snow, just a few patches here and there. All in all a great weekend! Thanks for the reports and thoughts ASMRZ.

My old friends Patty Orris and Tom Brogan climbed on Tahquitz today. Tom let Pat lead Jensen's Jaunt all the way. This is the first time in two years that Pat has been on the rock after serious illness. Some years back, she routinely beat most of the boys cruising the 10s and hard 11s in J Tree, did the Free Blast on El Cap, the DNB, and many other routes in Yosemite and the Sierra. Pen and I are so happy to see Pat climbing again and having fun doing it. The Pinot Noir that Pat and Tom brought to our place wasn't "bad" either.
Tom reported very warm day, temps in low 70s, not a cloud in the sky. Perfect Tahquitz day...
