You know what they say - 192,639,403-rd time is a charm.

While the trail is mostly melted out to Loch Leven, the smaller south-facing couloirs are holding great snow right now. The SE Face waterfall is running, so we opted for the couloir pinched between Emerson and the Piute crags:

A little sloggy just below the confluence of the face and the gully that connects Mt. E and PC:

But then some fine, fine scrambling to regain the ridge and the summit:

Descended the crapulence of the SW face, perfect late-afternoon corn for a boot ski just above Loch Leven. Great time out with Tom and Deb (our first peak together... awww...)

Very beautiful V! Unfortunately, it wasn't a great trip for Rob. I just got an email that he fell and is seriously injured. I've never met Rob, but his heroic comeback from a broken neck was quite inspiring. Wish him the best and successful surgery. :(

There were helicopters making several flights (in the Valley) on Saturday (27th). Rob doesn't get on climbs that are above his head, wonder what happened... Hope he is ok ready for another come back.

Rob as in SP user rhyang????? Horrible that anything bad happened to anybody, but especially to him with all that he has overcome. Best of luck and wishing for a speedy recovery

Not in on the backstory - was his original neck injury from climbing?
