Was at Rock Creek last Thursday; road was closed at pack station. Sporadic snow across the road. Trail to Morgan Pass mainly snow covered from Mack Lake. Post-holed like a mutha even at 11PM. It's been pretty warm but now a cooling trend - take your chances. :)

I just happened to hike up to Pine Creek Lake today!! Mostly clear and dry trail save for a few switchers just below the Wilderness Sign. Pine Creek Lake is melted out, but the snow looked a bit more patchy above the lake. Posthole madness: probably for the patches. :(

Will the fallout from the A-Bomb blast affect high country sojourns this weekend or is it only a blessing for Fresno across the crest?

...seriously, I love your first hand post pics, keep posting!

Seriously, is that what's causing this freakin' forecast of snow this weekend? Harumph...
