Snow Time For Us

Summer ended today for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. We had a pretty good storm yesterday in Northern California, so maybe it's time to start digging out those snowshoes, skis, gaiters, poles, warm layers, etc. :D

Here's a few pictures just for inspiration. Maybe you could post a few of your own... :)

Still drier than a popcorn fart here in the mountains around Los Angeles. We still have to get through wildfire season before flood season comes upon us, and there's always a possibility earthquake season could make an unexpected appearance.

Geeez Gordon! Those aren't even current pics!

Got a dusting from about sunset until midnight where I was. Not too much but went off and on for a good while and I wasn't totally prepared for it in my three season bivy. That thing may be going back... not really a good design.

It was melted off by noon. Looks like they brought the plows out in Yosemite... still plenty visible on Sunday night.

So... who knows where?

That last one looks like somewhere near Langley. I got caught in the same thing:

Is that the Big Arroyo cabin?

BTW Sean is pretty close. And those three pics were all taken within about 200 yards of each other.

Yep. We got snow, graupel, sleet, and rain from 5:00 until sometime after midnight, with an inch or so of accumulation. Then it froze, so you could walk around on top of it.

Winner!

Nicely done. Prior to last weekend I'd have been clueless on that one.

Judging by the last two posts, I'd guess some of the ice has melted.
