Made you look... ;)

Seriously though, do we still do an annual poll to guess the open date?

I'm super sad about the drought, but itching to climb some things.

Since April 24 is taken, I'll take May 1
But I think the week earlier is the better bet unless there's a late storm.

Define "open"--does the road have to be open from both directions, or only from the east? Usually Mono County and Caltrans open the road from Lee Vining to the pass (the skiers' opening) at least a week before the Park Service opens it from the Tuolumne side. Assuming it has to be from both directions, I'll take April 18.

Traversable. i.e. you can drive from Crane Flat to 395

Glacier Point always opens well before Tioga

Well, my recent Yosemite visit fell during a re-closure of Glacier Point Road. It was quiet up there!

Looks like we May have a winner!

The Lee Vining side will likely open tomorrow late afternoon and Sonora Pass may open by Friday at noon:

So, both Sonora Pass and Tioga Pass areas may be accessible this weekend. Bridgeport anyone? :D

What are you interested in doing out of Bridgeport?

Tower Peak!

Deb, making it to Bridgeport is probably wishful joking on my part (3 kids age 7 and under). Sonora Pass and Bridgeport have become our go to areas when points south are too far or too many hassles for whole family fun. I'll shoot you a PM if I get serious about heading over. My scrambling eager daughter should see someone who can really scramble sometime. :D

From the other thread, here's what the snow situation near Bridgeport looked like as of Sunday.
(There was more snow above 10-11k than I was expecting)

Fedak, I agree. From following Bridgeport reports as well as Sierra snow sensors a bit this winter/spring, I'd suggest heading south of Mammoth (or even better, south of Whitney) if one's goal is to go high, yet avoid snow as much as possible:

Tower is definitely on my mind's list of things to take care of this year besides graduating and mowing the lawn.
I'll be heading to Mt No Goode this weekend, despite the forecast of possible snow; really interested to see what it's looking like in my "neighborhood" over 11K'.
