Eastern Sierra options week of 4/4

Anyone have any ideas on peak options along the eastern sierra between Lone Pine and Bishop next week? Seems like road/trailhead access is pretty bad right now. I was originally thinking of doing Thor Pk sometime midweek next week but now with the Portal Road hard closure that seems like a headache and not worth the extra mileage/elevation gain for it. Are all of the roads along east side pretty much a no go right now without adding on serious mileage and elevation gain? I was looking to either do a dayhike or one night on the mountain somewhere.

I'd be curious to know how things look South of there as well. Planned on hitting Langley NE coulie in a couple weeks, and wondering if I should leave the splitboard behind and just hoof it. Or look for something else North of Big Pine...

It's only a two-mile walk/skin from snow coverage to South Lake right now, plenty of snow out there for skiing/riding! I found incredible snow out there last week and it continues.
Pine Creek and McGee are totally accessible right now at trailhead parking lots. If you want a long day, Taboose is easy access to parking area.
Convict Lake peaks are all accessible, as well as Mammoth area peaks. Plenty of options!

Where is the hard closure? We were planning on heading into Meysen Lakes next week.

At the bottom of the Portal Road where the "Road Closed" sign is in the winter. It will be closed all of next week while they remove large rocks from the slope above the read. You can check out the info on it in the link below, scroll towards the bottom.

How about University Peak from Onion Valley? Or any of the other peaks in the area. Pretty sure you can drive to the trailhead now.

Big Pine Creek is drivable to the trailhead. Inyo NF website still lists Onion Valley as closed, but it might be worth a phone call to see if that's accurate, since there's really not much low-elevation snow down there.

My friends went to Onion Valley last weekend to play in the snow and climb Mt Gould.
Report was, road and parking area were bare as were south facing slopes. Snow started at about 9000 feet

Awesome, thanks for the update Dave. I might hit Onion Valley up and do some peaks out of there. I was thinking maybe Langley via Tuttle Creek but that sounds brutal to me right now.

Someone just did Langley via Tuttle Creek two weekends ago and report "Sierra cement" conditions. I just did Mt. Whitney last weekend and can confirm excellent consolidated spring conditions. Snow line around 9k'. Go get some!
And let me know if you guys want to dayhike Langley via Tuttle Creek. Didn't summit on the dayhike but made the summit as an overnighter years back.

I think I am gonna head up Tuttle Creek on Monday and do the Northeast Couloir as an overnight. It doesn't sound like it is dumping too much snow and there looks to be a small break in the weather then.
*Edit - I didn't get my $h!t together in time so I am gonna head up Thurs/Fri and overnight around 10k ish.....anyone else heading up by any chance? Weather still looks not awesome, but not that terrible either.
