Has anyone ever made it from Iron Mountain to Mt Baldy summit? Wondering if this has ever been written up.

Thanks

Go to the Iron Mountain Page and on the left side column look for trip reports. Scan to the bottom and you will see some. Also, go to the climbers log and look for the 2005 through 2007 entries. several noted there. Becht even has a link to his photos for the traverse.

The traverse from Iron to Baldy is a wonderful if strenuous outing and can be done in all seasons. I have skied the traverse in late January 1991 and the only (small) problem is the third class ridge half way heading to the north side of Baldy which can be easily by-passed in dry conditions. The hike should be no problem is late spring when the last snow on the upper slopes of Baldy is gone. If there is snow, bring crampons and ice axe. The hike can be done in either direction. It is a long affair. Start early. Two cars are needed (obviously). Go do it.
