Drats. That shop was kind of a landmark. That Galen dude seemed to have a good connection with the mountains and I gather this was a family business. Best luck on your journeys, much respect.

Just two weeks ago I picked up some hitchhiking backpackers at the South Lake Trailhead and drove them down to Bishop where they wanted to be dropped off at the Mountain Light store. We had all been chased off the JMT by a snow storm and they figured visiting Rowell's gallery would be their consolation prize.
