Humphries Snow Conditions
Posted: Fri Apr 01, 2011 5:24 pmHas anybody been on the summit of Humphries recently? I was wondering what the snow conditions are like. Specifically, is it skiable from the summit or near the summit.

It kind of looked like that last time we went, and the only guy in our group who brought skis had a horrible time. We took Dutchman to Allison Clay...poor coverage (guy with skis booted down the slide areas). The bottom of Hart-Prairie was essentially an ice field. With an expect high of 53° today...I'd say it's snowshoe/crampon weather. You can try digging around on the Kachina Peaks Avalanche Center as well:
