I think I'm gonna go do my tourist stuff today(meteorite crater and the grand canyon) since I've gotten no sleep and dehydrated. So altitude is kicking my ass. ill go to the trailhead on way to the GC. Work on acclimatizing.
I'm gonna go back to my original plan and try on the 18th

Hmmm didn't realize AZ didn't believe in daylights saving time.

It's the folks in Phoenix. They figure, "good lord, why would we WANT more daylight?"

I'm gonna bail on this peak and just go to Colorado. More thunderstorms are rolling through

This daylight savings stuff is for the birds. Haven't missed it. Although I get confused if we're on "west coast" time or "mountain time" when I need to be on a conference call with people back east.

I find I have enough time for harvest with or without the extra hour.

No need to rush! Humphreys is climbable by nearly anyone, but take your time. Especially if you're not well acclimated to the altitude. People zipping by you on the trail probably live in Flagstaff at 7000 feet ASL.

Thanks for everyone's help. I climbed it yesterday. I had no real issues. Of late I've found the best way for me to climb is "slow, steady, short steps".

Right? I was pleased to see that, on my last trip up, someone had wrecked that silly bench, which was mostly gone (though a few pieces remained) from the summit.
