Correct. I do have a few more for the 4 Corners, but I thought I would branch out a bit.

Okay, that's what I thought. Looks like maybe that basin might not have very good water.

That is a safe assumption.

It's actually not entirely beyond the realm of the landscapes you find in southern NM, though it's a little more so. Is southern NM still the Four Corners? A geographer's quandary.....

Hmmm ... I always thought Quandary Peak was in Colorado.

That's what I get from graduating from the Public School system, for crying out loud ..

Not that my opinion matters, but I would not put southern NM or AZ in the Four Corners, just as I would not put Desolation Canyon or the Uinta's in the 4 Corners. I think that there is certain geographic and cultural consistency that is difficult to articulate but as Justice Stewart said, I know it when I see it. Just my 0.02.

As for the image in question, I will say that it is definitely not in NM.

That would be a bad place to die.

Except for the serious lack of elevation in the valley in the photo. One could almost use binoculars to see all the way to the bottom. Or maybe a Telescope?

Whaddaya think, Bubba?

I thought you had it the first time, but you were just cryptic enough that I was not sure, hence my being "safe". You are correct. Claim your prize and move on to the next or let the others keep playing?

Okay. Death Valley and Badwater Basin. I don't have a map in front of me anymore, so I'm not sure exactly which bump is Telescope Peak. For whatever reason, Death Valley just popped right into my head when I first saw the photo. Once again, I am completely intrigued by the photo and the landscapes. It takes a little mental exercising for me to get the orientation figured out, versus a map or satellite photography where north is up.

Wait: Now you've got me thinking I'm missing something. What was the "safe" in reference to?

Very good. Are y'all bored with this or do you want more? I have half a dozen or so left.

If you're bored, you can always go post something useful. Otherwise, for those still interested, here is another one:

I would have to take a gamble to identify these rocks - and I'm no good at gambling, so I always wind up in the red.

I think you would be wise to take this wager.
