Guadalupe Peak vs Emory Peak

Hello! I'm a newbie on the forum.

In 2011, my buddy and I climbed Emory Peak. I thought the hike was strenuous, but we did it in a reasonable amount of time.

We are planning to climb Guadalupe Peak in early March.

In difficulty, how does Guadalupe Peak compare to Emory Peak?

Same, if not easier. March should be good. Enjoy your trip and welcome to SP.

What Fletch said.

Also, be prepared for possible very strong winds on Guadalupe, especially this time of year (through Spring).

Assuming nice conditions, I'd also agree that Guadalupe is a tad easier than Emory.

Guadalupe was very easy winds were just insane 70mph +++ Emory has much higher prominence (nearly 1500ft more) so you will be doing less vertical gain on Guadalupe. I have never done Emory but I can tell you the view from Guadalupe was incredible. If you are out there you should take the time to do Bush Mountain as well as this view was more impressive to me.

Thinking of heading out towards Guadalupe the beginning of next month. How was your trip? Any tips/advice?
