There is a reason that the guidebook to Skytop is out of print, and I don't see this any differently. I realize that my view is probably in the minority here, but it's how I feel after spending some hours on access issues and developing the relationship with local land managers.

I feel the same way.

Rob: The Bonticou Crag is private land, and the landowner has closed it to climbers.

I could not find anything that said that Bonticou was closed so I did not sayanything about it. The route I was talking about was the scramble which IS an estlablished route

Your picture is the cliff above the golf course, which is a different area
.
No, all of those pictures were taken on Bonticou by me.

Not that I am doubting you but do you know of a website with all the rules? I would like t see all of the rules.

Call the preserve. Email the preserve. Talk to Hank Alicandri. He will be happy to tell you what they don't want covered in guidebooks and why.

I added a couple of photos from this past weekend's scrambles up and down the Dix Mtn west face slides. I'd have to say that the V and Hunter Slides are now two of my favorites. TR coming soon.

Just finished up Little Jackson Mountain. Perhaps one of the most underated peaks in Maine.

Why would this TR need sections? did you follow anything outside of the standard route on great range between peaks? Another question did you find the Basin area to be the hardest part?

Another deja vu! I slept on top of Roostercomb in 1973 -- through a thunderstorm! Beautiful, but definitely one of the dumbest things I've done.

We may add some more photos, but otherwise the SP'ers Great Range Traverse trip report is complete. VOTE!!! It'd be nice to see an eastern hike finally make it as a featured TR.
