I am from here but I am drawing blanks on this one. I have a client who wants portraits in a bridal dress with wildflowers and Mountain views. The trick is that it needs to be a spot fairly close to a road or parking area with the wedding dress.

I thought of Black Balsam Knob but not really known for wildflowers. Waterrock knob might work do they have wildflowers there?

This will be in April or early May BTW

Thanks in advance for help!

Black Balsam Knob really doesn't have wildflowers, but has an awesome rhododendron bloom...it's just not in April or May. Andrews Bald also comes to mind, but everything there will also be after April/May. I've seen wildflowers at Hooper Bald and Huckleberry Knob (near TN state line along Cherohala Skyway) in late May.

While this won't meet the mountain views requirement, Straight Fork Rd in GSMNP has great April wildflowers (lots of trillium) as it follows the whitewater of Straight Fork Creek.

You really should log in to the group Carolinas Adventures on Yahoo. They have a number of southern wildflower experts from your neck of the woods. They will be able to tell you exactly where you should go to the hit the most flowers at the best possible time.

Craggy Gardens, but the dates are too early for the spectacular rhododendron blooms.

If you don't mind dropping some money on tickets, you could go to the Biltmore. http://www.biltmore.com/

They have the Festival of Flowers going on exactly during the times you mentioned. There are plenty of mountain views, and trails/wild areas just off the road.
