As of a 3 or 4 days ago you didn't even need snowshoes in the Adirondacks, so you certainly won't need them for the Catskills. I'd take a set of microspikes just to be safe, but you probably won't even need them. And I've never needed an ice axe in the Catskills.

Just remember that it is hunting season, so some really visible clothing is more important than anything else!

The Devils Path? With all the rain we're getting? Temperature-wise I would guess it's on the edge of freezing. Snow above 3000 feet. But that's a guess.

It's 55 degrees and raining currently here so there will be no snow whatsoever in the Catskills. Even on the summit of Mt. Washington they are only calling for temps. in the mid 30's and mixed precip.

I was in the Slide Mountain area last Saturday & Sunday. It was cold then but no snow.
