Short version: snow is not really a factor except in places like Tuckerman Ravine where it gets REALLY deep in the winter. Ravine conditions

Expect snow to linger a few more days in high shady spots like the Twinway, but you probably don't need snowshoes anywhere.

Right now a bigger factor is thunderstorms. Check the forecast before heading above treeline, and check the river gauges if you're planning any significant stream crossings

As a sampling: we did the Ammonosuc Ravine-Jewell Trail loop via Mount Washington yesterday. The Jewell Trail was completely snow-free with minimal mud (mainly in the flat sections close to the trailhead), while the Ammo had a few "mandatory" snow patches shortly before the Lakes of the Clouds hut, but nothing warranting any gear, though poles were helpful on a few of the more slippery patches. I suspect that much of this will be gone within the next week or so. In general, I was surprised at how little mud there was, given all the recent rain. Lots of running water, though! In general, it's a nice time to be in the mountains, if you can find good weather...

Howker Ridge trail up Mt Madison was in great shape on Saturday 5/28; some mud at the lower points, almost zero snow, bugs in full force. Other hikers said there was no snow on Valley Way up Adams.

Did Lion's Head Trail (Mt. Washington) on the 31st, the conditions overall on the trails are perfect, though as mentioned above thunderstorms abound. I think Tuckerman Ravine Trail is still closed due to snow conditions, though it didnt look terribly bad.
