Suggestions near Pinehurst, NC?

I've a wedding to attend in Pinehurst, NC next month...figured I pop on SP and see if any locals have suggestions for some easy hikes in the area? With wedding party stuff I doubt I'll have time to wander too far (ie Blue Ridge, Smokies, etc), but are there any decent hikes in the area? I see there's a National Forest (Uwharrie) in the area, and Morrow Mountain State Park seems to have some trails?

Not a lot of great hikes in the Uwharries. Some decent stuff. No grand views at all, since what passes for mountains in the area are quite low. Your best bet for easily accessible marked trails would be Morrow Mountain State Park.
You could hike in the Birkhead Mountains Wilderness, but once again it would just be for forest solitude. No views, no great changes in vertical relief.
